How do I find an A Level physics tutor? (SW London)

Hi, just wondering where to start, because searching in Google just brings up a load of agencies and I don't know anyone who can give recommendations. We're Richmond area. Please PM me if you have specific names you can recommend, or else general advice on where to start looking and how to filter out the wheat from the chaff would help me too. I need someone who can help my bright DC to get the A* he's capable of because sadly I don't have 100% confidence in his school teacher.

My partner teaches A-level Physics at a grammar school - and lived in Richmond until recently! I think it might be too far for him to travel now but I’ll ask him if he can recommend anyone.

You could email his teacher and ask whether they could recommend anyone. I work in a school and quite a few of our students are tutored by teachers that have retired from the school.

I don't know anyone in this geographical area but my recommendation would be to find a way to contact physics students in your nearest university. tutoring from a current physics student will be ideal.

your nearest university Kingston doesn't seem to teach physics. Royal Holloway does - Egham is a 20 minute train ride from Richmond you might find someone there?

It's worth looking on LinkedIn - all the really good, professional tutors I know (as opposed to students or people who tutor as a sideline) are on there and that way you can see recommendations etc as well.
