Secondary education

Mixed independents - Surrey

DD1 is at an independent girls’ school and it suits her down to the ground. DD2 still in local primary school but would like a mixed secondary. We are in the Woking area and there don’t seem to be many options - St George’s (but we are not Catholic - I know this doesn’t matter from an entrance perspective) and Claremont Fan Court. Are there any others that I am missing that are commute-able from Woking? Thanks!

I’m in London but imagine Charterhouse being commutable? It’s going coed from next year, I think.

She could also commute into London to Kingston Grammar or Emmanuel (by Clapham Junction).

Other options that I’m not sure sould be commutable on public transport but probably doable by car, Epsom College or Reigate Grammar.

We live just outside Woking and most of the options are either single-sex and/or boarding type schools (and lots which can be day but have boarding-style set-ups and fees such at St John's, Leatherhead. King Edward's Witley is co-ed and very commutable from Woking; Churchers is probably too far to go but is co-ed and no boarding. There's Duke of Kent near Shere/Abinger but not that easy to get to from Woking. Reigate is on the wrong lines and likely to be too far too.

St George's is Catholic but I expect most children there are not, so don't worry about that. Probably the easiest to get to from Woking. St Johns is a long day, long coach journey and expensive. King Ed's Witley is possible, but wouldn't travel further than that
