Hi there,

My daughter got a place at both City of London for Girls and Wimbledon High School.
I would be grateful if you could share pros and cons for any/ both of these schools. Your feedback will help us to make the decision.

Many thanks in advance.

Please advise your dd's entry point, ie 4 plus or 7 plus and if you intend to move house and if you commute etc so need wrap around care. They are both great schools, well done to your dd.

Sorry is this Sixth form?

Entry level 7plus.
They are both equal distance from home.
Have got mixed reviews for WHS but No reviews for CLSG so unable to decide.

Is your dd musical or sporty?

WHS at 7 may have an intake quite local to the school ie for play dates/birthday parties.

CLSG will have an intake with wider geographical spread.

Does your dd have a favourite?

My DD is more into drama and musical rather than sports.
I want to know in terms about future beyond school I.e. GCSE / A-levels I.e. statistics around universities girls join, alumni, etc.

OP, you should follow the Highgate v NLCS post on the education thread. It's impossible to basis a school choice on the academic success of the school when they are both such great schools. Plus your dd and the education system will change in the next 10 years. If you live in South Croydon go for WHS, its much better for friendship groups/play dates/ birthday parties - otherwise you are going to spend the next 4 years driving your dd all over London every weekend to see her friends.

Many thanks. This is very helpful. I will go onto the post you suggested as well.
