Yr 11 - how much time spent on revision?

DD is taking her exams starting May 2018

She's just finished with Mocks and got steady 5s throughout

She's not a high achiever so if we can get 5/6 that'll be great.

With this in mind, and school day (6hrs) how much revision do you think she should be putting in each day after school

Four subjects, half an hour each = two hours per evening

2 hrs/school day evening is what my ultra-ambitious kid will do (prone to panic attacks & overworking).
Nothing is what my slacker kid did.
I think I'd talk to my kid about what they could stomach. 1 hr/weekday + 2 hrs on weekends would be satisfy me.

Thanks all - i thought i was being easy with 2hrs and no seeing mates (so hopefully thinking she would do extra) seems i'm a little harsh then!!

Think i'll dangle the carrot of doing 2 x 45 mins (with break in between for tea) and then she can see her friends - but like Soursprout said - it's got to be full on and no dicking about (she does definately go on her phone to friends when i keep her in for the week, so not sure how productive that is, so will try this approach)

She leads a busy weekend, with her Drama on a saturday and working on a sunday - so was giving her weekends off

My dd couldn't do 2 hours after school - not when she has been concentrating all day. 1 hour is more plausible.

Presumably your dd is on study leave soon? My dd's study leave starts on 28 April. Obviously on study leave (and during easter holidays) they can do a bit more

My DD didn't do any revision until May last year and I was worried when I heard others had been revising for months, so hang in there. This was when they had more coursework though and she'd put an awful lot into that. She improved on 50% of her mocks and overall did better than predicted.
