My DS is Going on his induction day at college on 19 June but he is a big scared, and I am to. What do they do? I can't imagine him walking around the school by himself

All schools will do it differently, but I'll give you a taste of what we do. Smile

First they all meet in the hall and meet the team of teachers and pastoral care assistances .

Then they move into their tutor groups and go to ther tutor room.

They learn some basic stuff about the school, rules etc and play some 'getting to know you' type games.

They don't do an awfully lot of going round the school without being in a line with a teacher, as the rest of the school is in, but we have Yr7s in on the first day of term, without the rest of the school, so they have the run of the school then.

They have lunch together and generally have a lovely day!

Pretty much the same here - They have a couple of 'taster' lessons too. Quite often science, art/technology and either a humanities or English. It really depends on who is available in the previously Y11 class time slots.

Ah yes, taster lessons too! Forgot that. Which is a bit of a worry, since co-ordinate the teachers to do it and it's in 3 weeks! Grin

Hi decorhater - we've removed your son's RL name and the name of his school from your OP. Wishing you both the best of luck and hope he settles in well.
