I am looking for a good state education in K & C borough. Can anyone help with what the good secondaries are and which are the feeder primaries? Many thanks

Vaughan and Oratory are very good and very popular but you really my be Catholic. Search on here and there'll be lots about them. Holland Park and Chelsea Academy are often well regarded. There is also St Thomas More, Catholic but not quite as hard to get into.

Oratory is in Westminster.

There are 5 secondary schools in RBKC. 3 are catholic , 1 is (partly)C of E and the only non religious school is Holland Park with another Kensington Aldridge opening in September.

None of them have feeder primaries and Chelsea is the only one that now gives priority to kids at RBKC primary schools and I think that may change. Holland Park will now offer on proximity so kids in Hammersmith or Westminster may get places instead of RBKC kids.

I would look at adjacent boroughs too. All of them publish a
Secondary school booklet each September on their website. The non catholic schools also tend to have arts related specialisms so that is another possible route.

Actually Oratory is in Hammersmith and Fulham - used to pass it everyday duh. As Kensington has such a restricted choice I would start looking at adjacent boroughs. In general unless there is a religious aspect most places tend to be decided on distance but each school is different and most apart from the RC schools award places on aptitude in music or art etc.

Whereabouts in the borough are you, moody6? That makes a difference on what it's worth talking to you about. And the obvious question for K&C is: are you Catholic? If you aren't then your "choice" in the borough contracts down a very great deal, and you may well have to look further afield.

Have a look at //LondonSchooling.com for a good overview of secondary schools in Kensington & Chelsea and other London boroughs that are close to you.

The map on the //LondonSchooling.com/map page shows where the Secondary schools in Kensington & Chelsea and surrounding London boroughs are. Other pages give overviews of school assessments and results.

If OP is in RBKC she needs to look at schools in the borough individually and also adjacent boroughs - LBHF, Westminster, possibly Brent. Most places are ultimately awarded on proximity. A league table type thing won't help her much.
