My brother was a boarder for his a levels. He seemed to enjoy it, did well (in spite of his crippling dyslexia) and got into a good university for a popular course. Hth.

Do you know if its super selective or all inclusive of abilities, ive seen their website, but its always better to get inside information, im looking at a number of schools and wondering it it would be on par with schools like oundle, oakham etc. Thanks

My parents were very careful about schools for us, particularly my brother due to his needing extra help. I was at university when he went, but can ask my mother when I next speak to her and see if she remembers.

Hi there. I am a Mill Hill School mum with one still there and one who left last year and is at Uni. Academically it is upping the ante however still takes from a reasonably wide ability range. In terms of selection it is up against some highly academically selective schools that surround it so inevitably it lacks enough very high achievers to place it at the top of the league tables. But it still has plenty of students that get jaw dropping results like one this year with 5*s at A Level! To give you an example it has quite a few there who just failed entrance tests to schools like Merchant Taylors and Highgate but who go on and get three A's at A level. For some it is a first choice because it gets good results but still provides a high level of sport, music and drama and I personally love the house system and pastoral support. Have been happy with it myself and would recommend it but particularly so if you have a child that you think would enjoy all the activities they provide.

enfieldmum thanks, that very useful to know, it sounds like they may have the right balance academically from what you are saying, "mechant taylors" does come across like a bit of a hothouse, but at the same time not as laid back perhaps as aldenham school in watford.
Was hoping to get a wider opinion from more mums, a visit will definitely be good.

Completely agree with Enfieldmum. If you want your child to do well academically and come out as a well rounded person, Mill Hill is the school for you.
