If anyone has applied for ballot tickets for the Queensferry crossing experience, check your emails! We've been luckily chosen and just recieved confirmation. Woo hoo!

We didn't apply in the end as we're a family of five and there are no exceptions to the four person rule even for babies under 1. Very annoying as even the Olympics managed to sort that out, but understand they need to limit it.

Och, that's a real pity. It's just me and DP, but it would have been a lovely thing to do as a whole family.

Waaaah I've just realised I missed it. What an idiot. If any kind mumsnetters get tickets and can't use them I would be happy to help you out... Grin

Hope it's a great experience!

We've got tickets too! Now wondering why we applied- we need to be there for 855 on a Saturday morning and we live in Glasgow. Going to be an early start! I'm also not sure DD5 will be up for it!

Shall confirm though, and talk ourselves into it!

I haven't heard back yet ...

Don't think giving away unwanted tickets will be possible ThisMustBeThePlace. Everyone had to give the names of those applying. We have to supply photos for security passes and take ID on the day.

There's a waiting list so if you dont want them someone else can get them (we are on wait list

Have you heard yet chemenger? I applied for my little sister but haven't heard anything either way yet and hearing lots of stories either way online today.

20thcenturybitch · 06/07/2017 17:58

and yes they are not at all transferable. If you can't make the time you have to say no and they go back out to the ballot waiting list.

chemenger · 06/07/2017 17:59

So do I assume that if I haven't heard anything I'm on the wait list? We really want to go.

chemenger · 06/07/2017 18:01

I don't know 20th, I haven't had an email and when I log in to the website I just get a message saying they will email me soon. Presumably we have to wait for people to return them, because they have decided they don't want to go.

Thanks chemenger, we are exactly the same, been logging in and checking my spam, but the registration emails worked fine. I'm sort of hoping now that they have rejected a %, offered 50k and we are in limbo waiting on those who can't make the slot turning them down... good luck. My sis will do any slot. She's coming further than Glasgow too and would jump at the 8:55 one so be grateful appin Smile

Further than Glasgow! Surely nothing's worth that kind of effort!

We applied but were unsuccessful unfortunately.

From the BBC news website. About 5,180 people entered have postcodes from elsewhere in the UK and the remaining 437 are from the rest of the world, including the United States, India and one single entrant from Slovakia.

We applied and weren't successful. We are in a waiting list apparently.

Aww ok thanks for letting me know they're non-transferable. I live right bloody next door to it and will cross every day in the car so should have been much more organised and applied! Never mind

Got ours! Really pleased! I travel from Edinburgh to Fife for work, so this will be my new commute. Disproportionately excited about it! It will probably piss with rain Grin

We were successful but I'm now seriously considering withdrawing our kids places as in reality it's just walking across a bridge and I'm sure they are not going to be too bothered in years to come of the photos or fact they did it. Myself and husband would still go and looking forward to it even if it chucks it down.

We didn't get - and now everyone is gloating about their posh invites. :(
Never mind the fact I cross the Bridge every single day - and have been totally inconvenienced for nigh on 5 years, we didn't get. Humph!!
Why didn't they do something for those with local postcodes? This third day is only for local schools - which is lovely for the kids - but unless I can pass myself off as a 9 year old, will have to put up with tonnes of colleagues talking about it.
Yours, grumpy of Rosyth.

Looking out the window in Dunfermline & thinking it will probable pour with rain on the day, like it's doing just now.
