Hi, I guess looking at schools in that area would be the first place to start. Also where you live now and how often you'd travel back and forth to see family and friends? I live in West London, close to the M4 and it takes me about 4 hours non stop to Bude, North Cornwall, where I have a holiday chalet. If you lived further down the county the journey could take much longer 5/6 hours. North Cornwall is lovely, I think the Bude area had the most sunshine in the UK last year. I've been spending several weeks there for 30 years. Properties are always more expensive by the sea. What about work? Is your job or husbands flexible as there is less work there than other parts of the country.

Unfortunately there's not really any more room in Cornwall for any more incomers, could you maybe just leave the few homes for the locals.
I'm not sure you'd get the welcome you're expecting.
Why not just visit?
