Dp & I have been together 2 years, engaged & trying for a baby. All is good. Recently he recieved a wedding invite from a woman he hasnt seen for a few year but he freely admits he adored & was in love with but nothing ever happened as she was with his best friend. Anyhow, i'm being insecure & don't want to go to the wedding, i've never met her but seen pics & shes blonde & gorgeous... But what if those old feelings rush back, he starts to think 'what if' i hope you get what i mean i'm not putting it well.

Ok, you're insecure and worried about going to this wedding because your DH used to have feelings for her? That's perfectly understandable.

I would recommend that you do both go though, and don't make a big deal out of it to your DP, he is with you now and probably put her behind him now anyway.

Going to her wedding will probably help your DP complwetely put any feelings he once had for her behind him.

YOU have to go to the wedding and make sure you look GORGEOUS!!! As long as you go you've got nothing to worry about! All the best ...

He is with you now. If you refuse to go to the wedding you could come across as a bit of a drama queen: he is probably thinking it will be nice to see some old mates, nothing more. GO along, looking gorgeous, and have a good time.

Thats it in a nut shell yep! Dp says she is a really lovely girl who i'll get on great with... and shes really clever and was always such a laugh and etc etc. Makes me hate her before i've even met her the poor girl! She was always the one he couldn't have, made worse by the fact his mate treated her really badly. Considering he hasn't seen her for 4 years i know alot about her (even before the invite!) so hes talked about her alot.

I do trust him, i know he adores me and loves me. He tells me every day how much i mean to him, that i'm beautiful etc. Its me that has the problem, i try not to show him i'm insecure because i've got no reason to be. He did cheat on me in the first month we were together on a lads holiday but has spent every day since for the last 2 years making it up to me. I think my confidence has taken a knock, in the last year i've put a stone on and my hairs a state etc

I'm not worried about her wanting him, shes had loads of opportunities in the past more that he will go back to pining for his 'lost love' if he had kept his mouth closed and not gone on about her i wouldn't give it a second thought. My stupid insecure brain keeps suggesting that hes only with me cause he can't have her but my logical past says that hes shown me every day that i'm his first choice. So, how to stop the insecurity? Because i hate feeling like this!
