My DP has been a bloody star this week

We just had a stressful family holiday (DD! has SN's, another story). Got back and on Monday I suddenly got these horrific pains. We called an ambulance that I later cancelled but a doctor sent me straight up to the hospital anyway and it turned out to be a cyst on my ovary that was bleeding nd had strated to twist the ovary. Had to have imediate surgery, literally then anf there, even though I had only just eaten.

Dp has taken another week off work, which isn't an easy thing to do as his immediate boss is off work and he's only just had a weeks holiday. He's looked after all 3 girls (6.5 with SN's, 2.5 and 11 months), and really enjoyed doing it even though they are really not the easiest 3 kids to look after and have been v. difficult at times, he;s kept them quiet and happy. Been food shopping, bought me 3 meals a day in bed, done all the holiday washing, kept house nice, set up lap top in bedroom, bought me drinks, been out to health food shop to buy iron supplements and pick me ups, etc etc etc. If I try and get up he's told me to sit down, get back to bed etc. He just went out and bought me new dressings as I was impatient and took them off early and then regretted it.

I just told him I loved him and he said 'oh thank you baby, even though I haven't done the dishwasher yet, sorry' and then got up and did the dishwasher.

I know he hasn't done anything out of the ordinary and doesn't quite deserve a knighthood or anything, but he's not really the type usually, he can be a bit slack, but he's really come into his own this week and been a bloody star, so I'm bigging up MR TC

So nice to read a thread which is free of DH/P bashing

Well done to him for being a good lad and I hope you're on the mend

He happened to mention today as he sat on the end of the bed 'ohh I'm shattered', I laughed and said 'Mmmmmm now you know how I feel most days'.

Thanks, feeling much better. Not enjoying the nightmares I've had since having a general but it will hopefully be out of my system by now.

Oh that happened to me too! I had a general for appendectomy and recovered from the actual op in no time, but getting over the anaesthetic took forever

Oh thanks everyone. And LOL DD3 does do a very odd smile where she tips her head back, shows all 6 of her teeth and screws up her nose, how odd!
