HELP! boyfriend broke up with me then lost parent

my boyfriend broke up with me on the friday and then his parent (dad) unexpectedly died on the Saturday. I dont know what to do. He has not spoken to me other than to say he will message whenhe needs me but in scared he will completely push me away n end up in denial of not needing me at all. before his dad passing he wanted time alone to think but now that the worst possible scenario has happened he isnt speaking to me at all. He knows im there for him but it’s heartbreaking because im grieving too and I feel shut out as he isn’t speaking to me n I obviously dont want to disturb the family as its still so raw. I dont know whether to carry on giving him space or reach outagain! I dont want to sound selfish either because surely my feelings dont exactly matter as he has lost his dad his feelings matter at the momwnt its a massive thing as they was so close. Does anyone at all have any advice or been thru a similar scenario. Im 22 and my pals dont really help they basically say to prepare for worst which I get but im obviously not going to give up hope. I dont want to give up on my relationship withiut trying but I just dont know when the right to try will be. I know bith situations will be killing me I know he will wish for my comfort but hes a very stubborn person and wishing for it doesnt mean hes gonna ask for it in this scenario cuz the worst possible thing has happened to him. Its just hard because im feelinf the same exact emotions maybe not to the same exact extent as him but I dont want to sound selfish I just dont know how to process it ? We had a pretty solid relationship before hand he broke up with me because he wasnt feeling himself n jt was the only thing he could take control of in his life
