What's fair when separating?

It has taken me months to get to this point but today I found out my so called so had £42k in savings that I knew nothing about. In comparison I have £6k savings.

I will be telling dp to leave very soon. He has no family to go & stay with. He probably could stay at a friend's for a night or two. What is reasonable notice?

I am not prepared to put up with him for months. I have literally reached the end of the line with dp.

The realisation he had £42k in bank accounts made me realise what a massive prat I am & that he's a great big cocklodger!!

Current home is rented. Everything in my name. 4dc. I'm literally ready to do this within the next week.

Nope never married.

No I won't do it until I can get dc away for aday or two. Oldest dc is 16 & she will worry about her dad. He will play on that so I need to protect her.

Is it reasonable to give dp a week to move out?

No, a week is far too much notice to give him.

Have you asked him about where these savings have come from and why he has kept them secret?

How long have you been together?
Are all the DC his?
He has £42K, he can afford a hotel for a few nights.
I'd be helping him pack tonight!
