Why did you go NC with a sibling?

If anyone would like to share why they went NC with any siblings or siblings in law but not the rest of the family (parents etc) and how they found it.. did other family members keep on at you to 'sort it out' or did they respect your wishes? Alternatively did they not respect your wishes and you had to create distance between them as well?

Six months of abusive emails over an issue. She thought one thing, though actually something else happened. When shown the objective evidence yet again she refused to accept it and carried on making Everything My Fault. Very odd and normally I can blame myself for any argument (If only I'd handled it better!) .... but this time no, it was clear that this was her issue.

Six months of insults was just too much. If the point comes that she wants to talk without insults and without trying to distort events I will respond ... but I doubt it ever will.

Turned out she's send uncannily similar emails to her other sibling. Apparently these too had the same skew-whiff relationship to actual events. Given her upbringing it's really understandable that she's struggling, even though I'm very cross at the same time. But even if I wasn't, I just don't want any more of it. Life is too short to be catching metaphorical clogs at the head every second week.

No one tried to force some sort of resolution.

About 3 yrs now, she threw her toys out of the pram and laid into me verbally when I had called her out on her behaviour and didn't sing and dance to her tune.
Haven't spoken since, it was only my dm that Did the mini emotional blackmail but I was having non of it and most of my family know what my sis is like so just left us to it.

Since then they are all nc with her and her them but is all of her own making.

She has issues from the past and deeply resents everyone, everything is Rosie until people don't behave within her expectations and throws any well meaning support or advice in people faces if they have tried to be there for her but not the way she wanted, for example validating her choice to call 999 on her husband even though he had done nothing and wasn't even there while she was binning his stuff and letting down his tyres of his car, when he did turn up to collect his stuff the police where there and she openly admitted to letting the tyres down to them, also she has been on a hate campaign to him since.

We have more or less maintained contact and support to him which no doubt feeds her anger.

Sadly my sister has become very self absorbed since starting her family. She has effectively isolated herself and will only engage with anyone when things are on her terms. I live too far away and am not useful so nc has come about due her indifference and my refusal to engage when our paths cross on the rare times it happens. She once clearly stated that I was only her son's aunt (not her sister of several decades).

Brother emptied my bank acc 3 days before Christmas last year. It was the last straw.

No one in my family has tried to get me to reconcile.
