EA ex threatening to take and not return 2yo DNiece - help please!

Posting for advice as I'm not sure what to google for this! It's all so extreme it sounds made up but it is what it is... DSis and her partner broke up last week, over many many issues. Just after they split she found out she was pregnant (great timing). He initially asked her to get an abortion which she doesn't want, then said he wanted to be involved still, and now, well. He has moved out this weekend - very much without prior discussion - back into his mothers house. He works part time earning about £300 a month, spends it on his car insurance and on weed, asks to have money for petrol and phone credit from her etc. She works full time and accepted this as he cared for DNiece (2) while she's at work. Today he's taken the sofa while they were out, leaving them without for a week and saying she should put cushions on the floor, even though he's in a fully furnished house Now he and his mother are sending abusive texts to my sister, who is obviously distraught, and they're essentially threatening to take DNiece while she's at work and not let her take her back home. My question is - what do we have to do to stop that from happening?? They are determined to turn it all into a Jeremy Kyle-esque slagging match and I'm horrified at the thought of them being anywhere near DNiece quite frankly. How can she protect her? I have no idea what to do
