Why do men think this is ok? We are struggling at the moment and he's gone out and spanked £250

Really??

That's not ok 😦

On what?? Can only assume gambling or stripers. Not OK

And I dont think "men" do so much as your DP does

All in a bar

We have a joint account so can see it, it's all from the same bar (and not a strip club)

I'm fuming. He's on his way so I'm going to pretend to be asleep as don't want to talk to him

Is there any chance it was a group tab that everyone else has given him cash for and he's paid it all on the card....

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 05/02/2017 01:18

Nar, it'll all be him. That's what these blokes do.

Im sorry he's such a shit

Report
redandwhite1 · 05/02/2017 01:23

He likes to be popular so probably just bought people drinks

He's taken cash out for the cab home so don't think there was tabs

Grrr

Hopefully he's got the tab and has £200 in his pocket. If not he's a twat. And needs to explain.
Which bank can you see stuff that quickly though? My banking is slow by comparison!

MommaGee · 05/02/2017 01:42

Thats LTB territory for me I am afraid.

What is £250 to you? Say in terms of food budgets. Ask him tomorrow where you are supposed to find the next 3 weeks (or whatever) shopping money from given that he fucked it on booze.

Not excusing him but that's nonsense. Cocktails are £10-15 a go in most city bars. A few rounds could easily see off £250.

PyongyangKipperbang · 05/02/2017 01:56

I have seen the "D"P of a friend of mine get through that amount of money by buying rounds for him and his "friends" with chasers. I use "" because its amazing how few friends he has when he isnt buying all the beers.

My friend had to borrow money to feed their kids as a result of that night out and its a regular thing. Sadly she doesnt seem to be planning to dump him any time soon.

Yeah I went to a club once as a student in london and it was £11 a drink didn't know at the time that was not £90 well spent but I imagine my face was Shock

Its not nonsense it's my experience. Even at £15 that's 16 odd cocktails. I can drink but that would be pushing of slightly!! Even if you mix in chasers etc.

If DP said he'd spent that I'd ask whoa bloody g string it went down and I know what he thinks of strip clubs!

Obviously OP has insider info as she knows where etc so I'm clearly not saying it's impossible

Louise and presumably you didn't do that three times

Report
LouisevilleLlama · 05/02/2017 02:11

No but there were 4 of us and as it was packed we got 2 drinks each, we have no idea how many people he is out with or the circumstances

MommaGee · 05/02/2017 02:13

Honestly I'm sure when his head settles hellt try and find some valid excuse and I'm certainly not suggesting ltb or saying it was anything dodgy althp gambling and steippers was initially my only valid excuse (cos if a round costs £90 you don't get another!) But I also think OP is justified in wanting his guts for gartees

MrsBlennerhassett · 05/02/2017 02:13

Is this in London? Youd never be able to spend 250 on yourself alone in one bar round here, youd end up in hospital with alcohol poisoning!
However ive seen cocktails at £20 + a go, in london.
I suppose he could have bought a couple of extremely expensive bottles of champagne?
If hes not been in a central london cocktail bar he must have been buying other people drinks quite a lot!
Cant believe someone would spend that much alone when they knew they didnt have very much money.
It is LTB territory!
Lets hope he used his card to buy rounds and everyone gave him the cash.....

Also if friend came back and said bloody hell those drinks were a tenner each and I got us all two, unless we'd all queued and spne the same, I'd be offering her cash!

I agree he definitely has stuff to answer for, and although shocked at the price I was happy to pay because before uni I had been mostly an outcast and I'd finally found a group, who in second year sorted it out for me as a surprise, train there, hotel room, pre drinks, entry it was my thank you for them going through the trouble
