Relationships

Boomerang Men

I'm wondering what experience other women have of 'Boomerang Men'?
By this I mean men who break off a relationship and try and make a come back.
I recently realised there is a pattern to past relationships that I've been in that when I've broken up with a man that some months later they have all tried to get back in contact somehow but I've always moved on by then.
I've been out with two men in the last year (both for a period of a few months), I'm wondering if either of them will get back in contact (they may well not do) as the last 8 men I've dated for various lengths of time over the last 25 years have done. I wonder if I'm too quick to move on?

My ex left me for another woman then tried to come back. Only happened to me once though. Normally I get ghosted.

Why did they break off the relationship with you?

I'm surprised that you would ask this question as an adult! Sounds a bit naive.

90% of men will do this at some point post break up. Usually when they are suddenly single or bored AND if they think the woman is single/they have a chance. It's called trying for a bonus night.

How long it takes to "get the call" will depend on how long it takes for them to be at a lose end.

Your only job is to say no politely and smack the ball right out of the park.

Just ignore it and don't give it another thought.

In the unlikely event, post break-up contact falls into the very minority 0.000000000001% of cases where it is a "I think I've made a genuine mistake and want to get back together" you will know it. Men in that situation make it really clear they want to get back together properly.

Oh and also if you get an out of the blue electronic contact by text message always read it with an eye on whether it could have been sent to more than one person:

eg.

Hi. How are you doing? It's been ages. Wondering how you are.

= sent to all ex-gfs in the phone book.

Hi Oxford888. I was just thinking of the time we went punting on the Cherwell and you fell in. How are things going?

= not sent to all gfs in the phone book.

Plenty of guys at a lose end and looking for a tide over gf/bonus night/shag sitution will do the group texting thing.
