Rules for going on holiday

After reading the article from Millionaire Jane Park and her " tongue in cheek" rules for her boyfriend going to Ibiza. My oh went on a stag night and it got me thinking.

Though I would never be that controlling. I thought without it needing to be said -he would follow these " rules" anyway. Well most of them. I would not give him a T shirt though.

If it was the other way round a man doing it to a women. Would that be acceptable?

The only rule would be if you're returning on a Sunday, make sure it's after 6pm, so both Sky football games can be seen.
Thought the list was very funny, as if anyone would agree to them

Your OP reads a little oddly, Tinkerblonde. Are you a journalist?

Haha no just a Maths teacher with jealousy issues.

This was based on a conversation oh and I had. He said if a man had done it to a woman nobody would be laughing then.

I think there are only three rules needed:

  1. What happens in Ibiza/Vegas/Skegness, stays in Ibiza/Vegas/Skegness
  2. Don't ask, don't tell
  3. Use protection

Anyone going on a "lads" or "girls" holiday is around 75% probability of having casual sex, whether or not they have a partner. If they're the "stag" or "hen", increase probability to 95% and 85% respectively.

Eh? Where do those ridiculous figures come from then?
Went on a hen weekend recently-12 of us & pretty sure not 1 had casual sex nor any inclination. There for a laugh with a group of friends not sex with some randomer when I have a gorgeous husband at home Hmm

What a load of rubbish those figures are! I've been on loads of hen nights and never cheated nor any of my friends or other women on the hen either.
What that girl wrote was a joke but yes I see what you mean if it was the other way round everyone would say she was in an abusive, controlling relationship

I have been on loads of hen weekends/girls holidays. Most people have been in relationships and I have never know anyone to have had casual sex, even the single ones actually. Usually more about having time with mates in those mixed groups (single and non single people together).

I am not sure about lads holidays, my DH goes skiing every year with his mates, I wouldn't think any of them do, they are all joined at the hip. I know that on 1 stag do my XHs best friend slept with a prostitute in Amsterdam, they all stood outside and timed him, he was the only single bloke there. He didn't understand why I didn't think it was funny, they even all chipped in for it Hmm

I definitely don't believe those %s include people in relationships. They are probably higher for people on 'all single' group holidays though.

I don't think it's acceptable for anyone to give "rules" to their partner, or expect them to follow any unspoken rule.

I based my figures on my personal experience!

On my hen weekend abroad my chief bridesmaid had sex in the apartment with a lovely handsome fella. She was married, of course, and to the biggest arsehole in the western world. Denied it all the next day. I know she was lying though because I got up in the night to be sick, went into the kitchen of the apartment to fetch a glass of water and there he was bending her over the sofa in the next room with the doors wide open. Filthy.

I don't think I've ever had sex on a hen weekend at all. I'm quite miffed.

I've been on plenty of hen weekends and unless I've developed a selective memory, I've also managed to not sleep with anyone. Nor has anyone else I've been on those hen weekends with.

Ditto DP has been on "boys" weekends and stag weekends and no casual sex has been had, certainly not within the past decade. It's not like they are all wonderful catches and will have nubile twenty somethings throwing themselves at the men Grin In fact, they most just play golf, go on hikes and then get gradually pissed in a beer hall before catching up with the sleep most of them are missing as they have young DC at home.

Still - rules. Honestly, if you feel you need to explain to your OH what he is and isn't allowed to do, you've already got problems in your relationship.

Most I've been on the mother of the bride and mother of the groom have been there so the hens hardly going to be getting off with other men that night.
My DP is going on a stag do soon with celebrities (think band) they aren't the kind of band girls really throw themselves at but will no doubt get attention. My poor DP isn't in that buisness at all so he may get bypassed!
