have this problem with my sister in law. . She's constantly putting her child up for the "brightest and cleverest child" award she really grinds my gears she pays no attention to my 5 year old as she is jealous of the relationship that he had with his grandfather he is now deceased .. I feel sorry for him as he's always making an effort with her and she just shuns him off .. It's not just this we try and include her and her kids in things we do with the mother in law but she never does the same with us ! Help I'm losing my patienc

I don't understand what you're saying OP. what exactly is the problem here? Apart from the fact that you clearly don't like each other very much. this is a very incoherent post.

As as for being jealous of the relationship a 5-year old had with a deceased relative... really?

You appear to be jealous of her and so I tend to think the problem is with you as well as her.
