Anyone else worried for DD and sexist leches

This didn't seem to post. Don't know why. Essence is DD has told me about a week harassment case involving another young woman at her workplace. While she herself hasn't been harassed the facts of the case if true are terrifying to think about esp if you have a DD. She lives in a mixed area of town and commutes to the centre says there are never any issues with the working class guys she lives around but the so called professionals at her work are a nightmare with women talk of titty bars, appraising joiners on looks, lecherous conduct at post worm drinks it all seems endemic. I have been within earshot as she has been yelled at by a bunch of lowlife in the street which disgusts me. Is there some kind of law change or educational initiative which needs to happen to change all this?

I would say things are already vastly improving on where they were 40 years ago when I first started getting Street harassed.

Of course we're not there yet but fuck me, if you remember the casual sexism that was acceptable in the 70s and 80s, the unwillingness to believe rape victims, the constant battles at work, centrefolds pinned up in offices and pubs, men having the legal right to rape their wives.. . We've come a long way.

All of what you said is true. If only internet porn weren't around we would be much further advanced though. I am sorry to hear you were harassed as presumably a young girl. Financial services industry does seem to be a bit behind though.

I am so not surprised that you mention that industry particularly. Unreconstructed doesn't begin to cover it.

And yes, I am very worried for DD. I hope significant progress is made before she reaches her teens.
