Intuition or insecurity?

Hi peeps
Hoping some of you might be able to help me work out what is going on!
I've been with my boyfriend for about 9 months. We have taken it slow (both have kids, both been stung in the past)
My last two boyfriends (inc my son's dad) had emotional affairs with their exes. Lots of emails, texts, felt they needed to share their world not with me. Hurtful. Not sexual though. Apparently.
My current partner has had a number of brief relationships over the last few years (before me) with a number of women & he is still friends with some of them/a couple are work colleagues. Recently, we haven't been getting on so well & I have started to feel quite insecure in our relationship & am staring to panic when he gets text messages in case it's all starting up again. I think about him texting his exes & having intimate conversations with them. He normally has his phone in his pocket (is that normal?)
He tells me how much he's into me & we have loads in common & have great sex but I can't shake this feeling that he's in touch with his exes & have this sick feeling in my stomach whenever his phone beeps. It's driving me crazy! He is relatively guarded with his phone (keeps in pocket mostly & doesn't really look at texts in front of me)
Am I intuative or totally paranoid?

Why haven't you been getting on so well with him lately?

Goddessofsmallthings I'm not sure what's been happening but think we're both just a bit stressed with work& tired from being single parents & don't have much time together so we end up being tired when we see one another & sometimes on different wavelengths which can cause a bit of tension...

Sorry goddessofsmall that was my friend saying what's going on as I felt a bit embarassed as there seems to be much bigger things going on MN than my insecurities. I should just talk to him about it all really. Didn't realise she had actually typed it & posted!
