I heard today that my closest friends, and DS godparents are splitting up.
It sounds mutual, but so, so sad. They have been together for 10 years, always so affectionate, caring and supportive of each other. I knew they had the occasional bicker but never thought this would happen.
I feel so sad. They haven't announced it publicly yet, I am the first to know. I have to tell DS - he absolutely idolises them.
Whilst I totally understand that they can't stay together and need to make the break and be happy, it is the end of an era....I know that we will see one half more than the other.
Is it selfish to mourn it a bit in private for a bit? I was really surprised by my reaction, I just burst into tears over the phone. Luckily friend took it well...
