i have been with my gilfriend for nearly four years now but am not sure if i feel the same anymore,i still love her to bits but she just seems to irratate me now without even doing anything.the only trouble is she is such a lovely person and i wouldn't want to hurt her as she has had bad relationships before.I also get on with her family very well and fear that i would lose that bond with them if our relationship ended .

Is there anyone else on the scene for you?

Looks like it's run it's course OP. If she irritates you then you've just gone off her. Time to do the right thing and end it. You can't stay with her just because you like her family.

SOmetimes relationships just run their course. It's not the end of the world to decide to move on. Just be kind, fair and firm. (Do you have DC together, or live together? If so, being fair is even more important.)

Sometimes you just hit a harder patch and need to decide if you want to work at it a little or just let it go. I think that every relationship has it's ups and downs, sometimes it's easy to be in love with the other one, sometimes it's bloody hard and takes hard work and commitment to get back to feeling in love again. I don't know any couple who spent a long time together who haven't felt like you feel now. it goes with the territory.
God knows that DM could have murdered DF at times and vice versa. It's easy at first to be with someone but the more time passes the more you end up going through these patches. Up to you to decide if you want to reconnect, find that loving feeling again or just walk away. But walking away is not the only solution and in another relationship you'd probably hit the same patch eventually so it is not guarantied that if you met someone else you'd be happier in the long run.... it might not be her, it might be you!

staying with someone in those circumstances would be worse for her though in the long run...
