BBC Radio Theatre recording

I've been lucky enough to get a ticket for a recording of Maxine Peake & Diane Morgan reading The Bottle Factory Outing at the BBC Radio Theatre. They always issue more tickets than there are seats available knowing some won't turn up, but there s a risk that I won't get in. I'm travelling quite a long way t get there & I will be gutted if I don't get in. Does anyone know how long I should join the queue before the ticket validation begins a 5.15 for a 7pm recording?

Certainly no later than 5.15pm if you can manage it. If it's on a weekday my experience has been that there won't be that many people there really early. That might be more of an issue at the weekend. It does actually take quite a while to get inside because of the security checks these days, which are like going through airport security, x-ray machine and all. So not a bad idea to get there early anyway.

Hope it's good!

Also they tend to give you a numbered sticker on arrival so you can go away for food etc and come back to the bbc cafe / waiting area at the designated time without losing your place in the "queue". When they're ready they'll call you in numerical order in batches.

Just what I wanted to hear. Thank you. I'm going to have a day off & lurk in a nearby coffee shop before.
