Maclaren Techno XT silver - mothercare.com Q! which version is this please

Has anyone recently bought the Maclaren Techno XT in Silver from mothercare.com - the one on sale at £165?

I had a 10% off code - and have been tempted into ordering (because I wanted a more compact pushchair that was easier to fold up/down than our huge ATP) and this brought the price (with free delivery) down to below £150....

But looking at the pics - I might be getting the 08 version rather than the 09 - I guess I'll find out in a couple of days - and it won't really matter honestly - because it's still the buggy I want, but I was just wondering if anyone else had already bought it and could say if it was the very latest - with the silver tipped handles and silver harness button - and if it came with comfort pack headrest - or a head hugger?!

I guess it will be the one pictured (older style) - but you never know!

Forgot to say - the order code is RS9 for all their stuff over £50 I think, and gets 10% off if anyone else wanted the code..

it will most likely be the older one, but youstill get lifetime warrenty on those i think.

Yes - I'm sure it still has the lifetime warranty - so that's great. The older version has all the features I was looking for (bigger wheels, tiltable sun canopy with zip open extra fabric, head rest and strap pads) etc.

I just spotted the newer ones and wondered which version they'd send - as their "close up" zoom thingy seems to feature an even older model also (wierd) - so I began to wonder if they'd even updated the pic on their website to the one they're actually selling!

I'll report back in a few days if nobody else here knows!

If it helps at all I just bought a black XT from Mothercare at the reduced price and it's identical to the 08 silver one I sold with the exception of the silvery tips on the handles which are on both black and silver, new design pockets on the back of the hood and the new mesh sides to the extended hood.

I phoned mothercare yesterday to find out which version, and they said it would be the older silver version at the reduced price!

You did well if you bought the black at a reduced price and got the latest version!

Having scrutinised the differences online, I think I really like the previous version anyway - it has the viewing window on the top of the hood - rather than a viewing "arc" at the rear of the hood - and I rather like the older pocket styles too.

Things I like about the newer version would be the mesh vents to the hood extension in the rear, the shiny silver handle tips and silver harness button.

I think the latest raincover is partly nylon - which must at least make the raincover more compact and easier to fold away!

Oh, and the 09 latest version has reflective wheels - I'm not sure if it's predecesor does or not - but I'm sure to find out in a few days!

I like that you can buy all these funky seat liners and headrests to change the fashion of your buggy - having invested a LOT (for me!) in the cost of an xt - It's nice to know I can keep it up to date without buying a whole new buggy!

And just to confuse things further - just got shipping notice from MC - stating a Maclaren XT in BLACK is on the way!!!

I'd be interested to know what turns up! Bought the last one of the 08 a few months back, from local shop, reduced to 159...I was so chuffed, because I HATE the new harness buckles and apparently loads of other people wanted it too, for this reason!!

i didn't keep the 4seasons in the end. but when it came it actually had the new style harness on it anyway!!

Mine arrived yesterday afternoon - it was the NEW 09 Version - in SILVER!

The box rather confusingly said "Black Techno xt" ........ but it was the silver inside - and we're very happy with it.

I am loving the silver metal tips to the handles - they look so chic - and the harness button is silver metal - thankfully - I had imagined that silver coated plastic!

We will see how durable the hood proves to be with it's new "viewing arc" - I'm suspicious this part might split over time - but then again, it's just what raincovers are made of and they don't all drop to pieces do they....

I'm really glad I got the cosy toes and comfort pack from the boots sale - they were in the sale also - because being the new version, it had a "head hugger" - which wouldn't do for my 1y old - and the comfort cusion pack adds some comfort without restriction of head movement.

The cosy toes adds padding to the seat - because without this the buggy wouldn't be so soft for him.

If I had been buying this from birth - I think i'd have gone for the xlr to get the lined hood and the comfortable extras included.

It's a nice light buggy - and handles very easily (steering, steps, kirbs etc) even with my 15kg 5.5y old in it.

I think I got a good price £148.50 and free delivery considering it's the latest one.

I also like the customer care at mothercare - should anything go wrong with the buggy! (hopefully it won't though).
