Double buggies

Looking for a side by side buggy for a 2 year old and a new born. So far I'm interested in the mountain buggy duet, mountain buggy nano or bugaboo donkey. Does anyone have experience of any of these? Obv can't go and see in person at the moment!

If it matters, we live in London so needs to be ok on buses and it does need to fit in the boot, but we don't drive that often.

Thanks!

I reckon the Donkey would be too wide for London. I have the duet and it only just fits down shop aisles. I think the nano looks really good

In my opinion, with buses you might be better with a tandem. That has been my experience anyway. When I was going to buy a double the only one (side by side) I could see getting on a bus is a smaller double pushchair like the joie aire duet (not sure the exact number).

Thanks guys! Yes, I do think the donkey looks wide, although I have seen lots around! Going to look at the nano again as agree it looks good.

I'm not a huge fan of the top and bottom prams tbh as I don't get how the child on the bottom can see out?! Trying to think ahead to when they are say 9m and 2.5 and both want to look around....

I had a Phil and teds and the bottom seat was the favourite! Everyone loves the bottom seat! Honestly, I loved it as a double and it was great and even when they were big enough to have an opinion the fight was for the bottom seat!

The baby goes on the bottom and she looks out of the side. She s a nosey little girl but the view seems to satisfy her! I think kids want to see "stuff" rather than specifically where's they are going.

Just to note 're the nano it is marginally wider than the duet so if space is a serious issue to be aware x

When they are 2.5 and 9 mths, the older one will be in the buggy as little as possible an walk quite a bit. A side by size can be a bit awkward to push with only one child in it because of weight distribution.
With with a two year age difference I would go for a second hand Phil and Ted

I also had a Phil & Teds, I loved it and can report that the bottom seat is definitely not the booby prize that adults think it is Grin

Thanks guys! Interesting re top and bottom, I'll take another look at those. Also sounds like the Phil and Ted is def worth a look - thank you!
