I'm struggling to decide/find the right 2nd hand pram..

Hello ladies, I've finally cracked after researching for over a month on prams and need enlightenment from the parents of mumsnet.. Confused

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and am very aware that time is running out very quickly! Ahh!

We're trying to avoid spending a lot of money on a new pram so are happy to look at good quality/condition 2nd hand ones for a fraction of the price. Obviously this means the newer/latest models of prams are still quite expensive 2nd hand and we have a budget of around £300.00. I've noticed for a 2nd hand budget these would be prams from about 2014 onwards.

I'm after..

  1. Something which has a carrycot option and stroller seat.
  2. Nothing too bulky or too wide or heavy but robust.
  3. Good suspension (live around a cobbled area).
  4. Good sized under basket.
  5. Good shade/hood.

So far I've looked at Mamas and Papas Urbo 2 not really sure what the suspension is like, but I like the shades/hood, it's reasonably light weight but robust but the basket is a tad on small. The Joolz Day, has great suspension, good size but doesn't compact down too great, slightly heavier than the Urbo2, has a ridiculously small basket...

What would you get?? Or are there any other suggestions which might tick all the boxes?

Thank you in advance for any advice Grin

I got britax affinity and it meets all of your requirement but one. Basket is on smaller side but not terrible. If you look around you might be able to find a very good deal on new that fits your budget. They still sell new carrycots from older discontinued models that fit britax affinity 2 for very good price or buy on ebay. Suspension is dream on this pram!

If you wanted new for that price, I used a mychild floe for a while, a friend gave it to me and it was brilliant. The carrycot adjusts at the back and turns into a seat, it's really easy to push and it had a massive basket underneath. Was so upset when DH broke it. I don't live around cobbles, but live around lots of broken uneven pavements and also pushed it through my local park which has very uneven ground with lots of stones and tree roots.
I'm pretty sure it's £300 or less. My friend got it as a "throwaway" buggy to use for her childs last few months in a buggy and loved it more than she expected so passed it on.

Also look into isafe. I've noticed lots of theirs have really good reviews, although have never tried one myself, they're all ok prices and most I've seen either have a similar thing to the one I mention above, or a carrycot.

I love the egg, it hasn't been about that long so there aren't a huge amount second hand although there was one on my local fb page a few weeks ago for your budget.
