Uppababy Vista 2015 Twin

I'm currently pregnant with twins and my youngest will be 2.2 years when they are born.

Thanks to a very awkward porch I can only have a tandem pushchair and I've been looking at the Uppababy Vista 2015 (to save money instead of the 2017) and have a few questions if anybody knows the answer please?

Can either seat (the standard or rumble) be used in either position? I understand the carrycots are the same but wasn't sure about the seats.

If you have used the buggy board with it, is it practical or a complete pain in the bum? I'll probably sling one baby and have the toddler in the seat for a while but I'm looking for a long term option.

And also, can you have it set up with 1 carrycot and 1 car seat? It doesn't show this configuration but from looking at videos etc it seems like it would be possible.

I've had lots of double pushchairs before with my eldest two but never a tandem. My ideal (or closest too) would be the out and about nipper or possibly the bugaboo donkey with an extra seat frame so I could switch between carrycot and seat easily.

Thank you in advance Smile

I could recommend the Phil and ted voyager as a good double for twins. Not sure if you can put a buggy board on it but it's a bit easier to push than the uppababy and was a bit cheaper.

Thank you. I definitely need something that can take a buggy board but I'll take a look!

I don't have a buggy board so not sure about that but I use my Vista with my 8mo old and 2.5 year old.

Not sure what you mean about the position of the seat and rumble seat? They can both face in or out but you do need the upper adapters. I tend to have baby facing me and toddler in the lower seat facing out but I have started to turn them baby outward facing as well and they're both fine.

You can have one car seat and one carrycot. If you have the carry cot on top, you'd need the lower car seat adapters. If you want the car seat on top, you'd need the lower adapters for the carrycot.

I had the Vista as a single with my DD. I probably would've gone for the bugaboo if I hadn't had something that converted to a tandem but I do love the Vista. Ours is a proper workhorse, but no good if you are using public transport or if you don't have a large boot!

Sorry @teaandbiscuitsforme I meant can you use both the main toddler seat and the rumble seat in both the upper and lower positions or is it strictly toddler upper/rumble lower?

Thank you for your help!

Thought you might have meant that but wasn't sure!

It's toddler upper, rumble lower. The rumble seat has smaller adapters so I think that's why it can only take 35lb as opposed to the toddler seat taking 50lb.

Thank you @teaandbiscuitsforme!

Looking at the weight limits, my 20 month old is already too heavy for the rumble seat (how?!)

We looked at the vista but rejected it as although it made much of being a double the max weight was 15kg so couldn't see how it would work with toddler and baby.

Have you looked at the Babyjogger City Select? Loads of combination options

My 2.5yr old certainly isn't light (75th centile but haven't weighed her in a while!) and she's fine in the rumble seat. I'm sure she's not due to be 15/16kg for a little bit longer anyway but maybe I should check!

You could always put a baby on the lower one? It probably depends how much you want to use it as well. My DD often wants to scoot/bike/walk lie on the ground so I don't feel like I'm pushing it with both of them all the time.

We didn't need a double - we were just thinking is it sensible to future proof but just ditched that and bought a single pram with was both cheaper and had better Which rating.

oh babyjogger got rave reviews from friends of mine for one of the single ones - just checked which and it only gives the double 56% 🤷‍♀️

I've looked at the baby jogger but it's just so heavy. I have back/pelvis problems so can't 'put my back into' very much and live in a fairly hilly area.

This is something else that puts me off the uppababy too as that's not light either 😕

I actually have a 2017 Vista with rumble seat that I bought this spring when I had #2. We've used it a handful of times as my toddler prefers to walk and have been just using our old Cruz with the baby. If you do end up wanting the Vista I'd be happy to sell you ours as it's still new. Let me know Smile

Sorry didn't mean to post this here! Thought I was still on the buying / selling page. My apologies!!
