Uppababy Vista or Bugaboo Chameleon

We're expecting our first little one and have started to look at prams. We'd like at least two little ones, so have had a look at how the prams our extendable. We like the Vista, it's easy to add another seat and good value for money. The Chameleon looks very good, and the fabrics do make it stand out. Unfortunately you can't extend it to a twin, but you have the pram board.
Will be mostly used walking in and around London.

Am I over thinking this? Any real life comments?

Happy to consider other prams. Discounted the icandy peach, but with a carrycot and seat my shins kept hitting the Carrycot!

I LOVE my Vista. The basket is enormous; it's really easy to use / collapse / push / brake etc. Particularly appreciate the one-hand release function on the carry cot, that you can use the carry cot as a travel cot, and the front wheel fix function for longer distances.

It's bulkier than some others when collapsed but I walk or drive so I'm not trying to wrestle it around public transport much.

It's an all-in price as well; we found many of the other brands had so many necessary add ons it really bumped the price.

I have the chameleon for my DS - overall it's great and will last DS for a good while yet (he's now 12 months) and would reuse if we have any more DC. But, major downside is that the basket is basically inaccessible when it's being used with the basinette, which drove me crazy for the first few months. Also it's pretty bulky even when disassembled - I think if I were using it in a city or on public transport regularly I'd have gone for the Bee rather than the Chameleon.

I have the Uppababy Cruz. It's brilliant! Slightly smaller than the Vista but I've found that better for being in shops. Plus, I was always perplexed as to why the basket had a bar across it with the Vista. The Cruz doesn't.

I have the vista and can second everything the pp said. I love that it's so sturdy, baby sits quite high compared to a lot of prams and I'm tall so this works for me, the huge basket is excellent if you don't have a car so need to fit lots of shopping in. I have friends who have been through two kids with theirs and they are still going strong. The one handed carrycot thing is great and the seat part faces either direction. The are lots of positives about it.

Downsides - it's big. Wider than most other prams and heavy when folded. The wheels do come off easily but it's still bulky and we've got an estate car so space isn't an issue. I hate taking it on the bus for this reason - it's just quite a tank!

If I had my time again I would get the uppababy Cruz I think. A lot of the same features, just a bit smaller.

Have to say I would look a the bugaboo bee for London. We had the chameleon and whilst I love the pram, it was too big once out of carrycot stage really to use on buses, tubes, in and around small shops, in cafes etc. So we ended up using sling daily and pram only when literally just walking in park with no plans to stop anywhere.

I have the vista. I'm 6' and it's perfect at the most extended height, it does go shorter too.
The basket is much bigger than other buggies, you won't have to sling your change bag over the handles like other mums you see, which makes it unstable.
It is very sturdy. It's easy to manoeuvre with one hand. It feels very good quality. It has rubber wheels, not tyres like some other prams, so you won't be stranded with a puncture.
It is wide but not much more than other prams really.
I would get it again in a heartbeat.

Two DCs, one Uppababy vista - extremely sturdy, much used over the last two years, and still works impeccably... ok a bit bulky but frankly, this is one of the best purchases we've made since birth of DD. Works wonder on DS. I go out with it every single day. Before DD was born we hesitated with the Bugaboo chameleon but very glad to have chosen the uppa.

Now the question is what car seat some go well with the Vista?

I got the Maxi cosi pebble. Had to buy adaptors for the buggy but it was the best buggy/car seat combo by far.

Maxicosy here too. Pebble Plus which as far as I understand is the same as the Pebble but they fleece you an extra £50 or so for a little snuggle cushion!

From memory mine came with a cushion. Can't really remember. Everyone I knew had a Maxicosi car seat. We were all just grateful that we went for the different patterns so we knew whose was whose. 😂
