Baby jogger City Mini Zip - brake problems?

Any one had problems with the brake on their BJCM Zip?

I bought the Zip in April from John Lewis online. 5 weeks later the brake stopped working (doesn't engage when you pull the lever up). JL replaced the pushchair (eventually). The exact same fault has just occurred with the replacement one. Is this a known fault with the Zip or am I just very unlucky?

I haven't noticed anything on mine although I'm out of the pushchair loop so don't know if it's a known fault.

This has just started happening on mine! The shop I bought it from are organising a repair through kooltrade. I've also noticed the brake lever doesn't flip back up into place like it used to.

That's exactly what mine does, lentilpot. The lever just kind of flaps down instead of sitting tight against the frame.

John Lewis initially offered me a repair but I am in NI where there are no stores to take it to for repair. Then they offered to send me a replacement brake to fit myself. They got this face Hmm in response to that suggestion so they agreed to a replacement. Looking forward to seeing what they offer this time...

Has this happened to anyone else?

Has it happened to you Dunder?

John Lewis have asked Kool Trade if it's a known fault with the Zip as they are reluctant to replace mine with another Zip if it is likely to recur. They've told me that they won't be offering a repair either as the its 3 months old and has already been replaced once. Still waiting to hear the outcome.

Just ordered a zip - have you got any further with finding out if this is a wide problem? Online order from John Lewis so I can return.

Apart from this have you been happy with it?

Still waiting to hear back from JL. I'm sure DunderMiffed won't mind em saying that her Zip with the brake fixed and the cable completely rerouted compared with the original brake design. Suggests that it is an issue.

Otherwise, I love the Zip. It's pretty much perfect for us and so easy to travel with. the brake is definitely it's only flaw.

Thanks. Glad I purchased through John Lewis rather than an online only but cheaper site.
