Elastic loops Bugaboo Bee 09

We have a bugaboo bee 09 which we have set up to be parent facing. We have had to remove the seat cover for various reasons and now we can't get the 'wings' on the sides of the seat cover to sit right. They seem to just flop inwards and I am pretty certain they should stand up. I suspect it has something to do with the elastic loops on the seat cover and the hood, as we can't see an obvious place for these to fit.

Any help much appreciated as we have tried the usual channels and the instruction manuals / online pics don't seem to show this clearly.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
