Phil & Ted's Verve Owners - Anything good to say?

I have read all the bad reviews on this but wanted to see if anyone could find anything good to say?

I am used to Phil and Teds buggys having had an E3 for 4 years but it is truly exhausted and new baby due in Feb. I love the idea of the Verve and want something to replace my Bugaboo a few times a week that will also carry my 3yr old.

I will probably use it most with toddler in back seat and maxi cosi on top as I think my 3yr old is too big for the doubles seat up top.

Does anyone know how old the baby has to be before going in back recliner? Is it 6mths?

Finally do the panniers fit on it?

I don't need to know about chassis creaks or popping back tyres as all these happen on my E3 and I am prepared!!! Many thanks.

The creaking chassis was actually a major issue that I was told made the Verve irreparable. It wasnt just a bit of creaking! If you buy one, make sure you buy new as I believe the chassis has been or is about to be changed.

I believe the panniers do fit but not easily.
I believe it is 6 months for the doubles kit.

Thank you guys. The Verve has been out of stock at all outlets for 3mths and is now back in at the big ones. I will ask the question re whether it is the new version and am buying new so happy to return at will! I shall keep my bugaboo and E3 on reserve.....

sorry but i think you are mad, if you had seen mine and others you would not consider putting a child, let alone a baby into it, at one point the frame was twisting so bad i thought it was going to giveway, and do you really want the hassle of returning it and the argueing that you want a refund and not a repair. i ignore reviews alot, but even i would not ignore this one.
i will go in silent now, sorry!!

Which current Phil and Teds do you think is the best then?

The Verve is the only one that seems to tick all my boxes and while I understand some people (and clearly you) have had issues with them I have a friend who loves hers. I hate the Icandy in all its shapes, I need an inline and just want something a bit more refined than another Explorer type and the fact that it takes up to 20kg in both seats is a major bonus as I will have 3 under 5. If I google Bugaboo and E3 complaints there are always problems with all buggies but I have loved mine unreservedly despite their foibles. (which include nearly being hospitalised after E3 closed on my finger pre finger-guard era!) Do you rate the Vibe over it then?

Sad i hated my vibe it was the first one though and had issues, loved my sports and e3, the explorer would prob be good, as i think it has now had any problems sorted by now re- frame recall, to be honest have you looked at the b-dual i know alot of people really love them, there are a few inline pushchairs on the market now, but i am no expert on them however i know of someone who is!!!!
i agree the verve does look nice and it ticked all my boxes too, it is a shame it has major issues.

Lol, I am staying out of it. But I can name a fair few inlines I would rather have. Although I am staying out of it :o with an already 3 year old, have you had a look at the Mountain Buggy +One? It has one niggle which MB are apparently working on, but so far, it's been very good.

Wakey, how can you love something with a creaking chassis, popping tyres and that eats your finger? Xmas Grin

How long as your friend had hers for? Does she really love it? I have quite a few friends who claim to love their pushchairs but there are huge things wrong with them. Xmas Confused One got properly stuck on gravel, one has to be lifted out of cracks in the pavement, one's humongous and one has seriously badly slanting back wheels. I don't get what they like about them.

Anyway, I really like the B-Dual. The Kids Kargo Duelette could be good if they sort out carseat adapters before your baby comes. The P&T Promenade could be very good, but everything coming out of MB/P&T/OnA has had problems recently.
