tele on wall

i am rather reluctantly resigned to attaching my flat screen tele to the wall, as it is only a matter of time before DD2 pulls it over

So, i got myself a bracket (tis only a 32" one) and got friend to attach it to wall. The only wall it will go on is the chimney breast, which must be hollow as the bracket is pulling away from the wall as soon as we lift the tele on. Luckily, we hadnt let go properly, so we managed to catch it

We are not too sure how to get it to fix properly, or even if it will at all! We used the screws recommended in the instructions - L15, but are wondering if i need longer screws? The top hole is the worst, the bottom two are drilling into brick and are attaching a little better.

HAs anyone any clues? AM a complete novice at DIY, and although my friend is a little better, she is obviously more wary than normal with it not being her tele!

If you are attaching to a hollow wall, you need something like this:

cavity-fixings.drywallscrewsonline.com

DIY shops sell them, but they are variable in style and quality. The ones described as "spring toggle anchors" are good.

thanks Mary, thing is, i am not too sure it is a hollow wall although common sense tell me it is a chimney breast, so therefore must be hollow........ I just dont trust my own judgment lol!

Will have a look at the link thanks

On that link, there's some called "rubber nuts" (LOL), which might do the trick.
