Bathroom re-vamp on the cheap. Recommendations please.

We are trying to re-vamp our bathroom without spending too much money. We would like to replace our loo and basin and re-do the floor. We went into bathstore today but I wondered if anyone has ordered bathroom bits online and if they could recommend a company. Just been on onlinebathrooms.com. They seem heavily discounted.

Also does anyone have any idea how much a plumber might charge to install new loo and basin and new bath panel?

Our bathroom is pretty small. 5ft x 7ft. We would love to stick to budget of around £700. Are we being unrealistic?

If you are just replacing like-for-like (i.e. same sort of loo and basin) then it's really not hard to do. You could do it yourself or get a handyman to do it for you for not very much money at all.

Is there a bath panel right now? What are you replacing it with?

What is on the floor right now? What would you want to put on?

I know I could revamp a bathroom as you describe for less than £700, but I can do most of the things that you describe myself, so that doesn't include the cost of labour.

ebay! we recently did our bathroom and bought a loo basin and bath off various shops on ebay all get delivered to your door, it was loads cheaper than any stores we looked in. as for fitting my husband did that himself he looked up on the internet how to do it and all went well luckily, but if your not confident doing that im sure certain shops on ebay that are in the right area would include fitting.

We had a burst pipe at Christmas so the tiles on the side of the bath had to be taken off to inspect the damage. We figured a panel is the cheapest way to replace them. The floor was damaged at the same time. We will be replacing like for like pretty much. Not sure our diy skills are up to replumbing. I will look on ebay. Which stores did you use nicnacinoonoo? Were you pleased with the quality of the things you bought and did you bid or buy it now? Thanks everyone.

If the surface underneath is OK, then re-tiling may be the cheapest and easiest thing to do. It's very easy to do yourself, even if you're scared of plumbing (which is in fact very easy if you're just changing a part, but scary because of the possibility of leaks, water all over the place, and so on).

I have used Plumbworld recently and they are pretty good and competitive prices.
