Hi, we have just moved into this house which has a push button type of a cistern in flush and it flushes very less water on pressing the button and we have to keep the button pressed for the water to come....any advice regarding as to something that can be done that is simple enough and we dont have to call a plumber. any advice/suggestions appreciated.

Is it a dual flush? ie 2 buttons one for a short flush and one for a long flush?

If it is then the short flush has just been set to be very short. Does you toilet have a makers names on it? If it does you can visit their website and they usually have instruction manuals you can download.

Ours has like a little ladder notched system where you move a bar up or down to dictate how much water goes on the short flush, the entire cistern empties on the full flush.

If it is a button that you just hold down for the flush to be as long as you want then that it the way the toilet is designed.

God, I just read that back, does that make any sense for you?
