For those who missed 30th June, what happened next? Are you proceeding?

Missed the 30th June deadline. Long chain, with the bottom half wanting to renegotiate to account for the increased stamp duty cost, the top half unwilling as unaffordable. Chain has now fallen apart, so I am now stuck.

What has happened to others?

Hi. We didn’t make it either. We broke the chain as our buyer was pressing us, living with family now and hoping to god the chain above proceeds. We figured the £11k stamp duty vs starting again from scratch was was it x

Honestly I don’t know what we will do, we are a chain of three. Our vendors said they would rent, we were all ready to exchange on the 25th June so could have made it till our vendors announced they were buying a new build. Allegedly it’s due to be ready in September but any delays and we are screwed. Plus our buyers mortgage application expires in sept,

I feel if we went elsewhere we would be paying £20k+ more than the additional £3k stamp duty. But equally, I feel like if we’re going to lose out again, I want to reduce my offer by £3k to try and force them to agree to a September date.

I missed our as first seller said they'd rent, then wouldn't and after I wanted almost three months I pulled out. Second house ready to go when seller hot ill and pulled out (then said he was going to proceed on June 29th, too late).
So I knew with current purchase I'd be paying the stamp duty - I've been planning to move fir two years do can't not do it. But really with all the houses I offered on I budgeted for paying it - I think anyone was foolish to count on making the holiday without a contingency.

We missed it but are still going ahead - just means our new bathroom will have to wait, we felt it wasn’t worth the hassle of renegotiating or pulling out and looking again as nothing similar has come on the market and prices seem to have weirdly gone up a bit recently in the area we are moving too, frustrating as the top of the chain were holding everyone up so we are being penalised financially for something that wasn’t our fault Hmm
