I didn't see that thread, but have used Victorian Plumbing in the past with no problems. IIRC, general advice is to swerve Victoria Plum!

The plumber we got round to quote recently said to avoid both.

I believe Victoria plumb is cheaper than Victoria plumbing, we got Victoria plumb for our house tho, did 2 bathrooms and a cloakroom and all look good 18mths on and had no issues. Plumber didn't moan about them when installing so we're happy with them!

Watching with interest. I am also interested but in branded stuff like Crosswater so wonder what the issue with either is. From what I can tell its fine if everything goes smoothly, but they fall down at customer service when something goes wrong.

Victoria Plum are certainly at the cheap end of the market. We got some stuff from them when weredid the bathroom a budget. The experience was a bit of a mixed bag.

There was a problem with the quality of the sink (basically it leaked when water flowed into the overflow). The problem was only discovered after it was installed.

To their credit, they sent a replacement to arrive next day, and luckily for us the installers swapped it without charging anything extra.

We’ve used Victorian plumbing and I was impressed.

I'm totally confused. Are they different companies? Did one start up using a similar name to confuse people???

@WinterIsGone yep different companies. I’ve heard less favourable things about Victoria Plumb.

Eh?
IIRC both Victorian Plumbing and Victoria Plumb are both supplied by the same manufacturers anyway so product is the same, it'll be the customer service, especially in the event of things going wrong, that differs.

I looked them up a while back as I too was confused. There was actually a court case in which Victoria Plum was allowed to continue trading under that name. Bizarre if you ask me because yes, it's confusing as hell.
But on the basis that Victoria Plum (no b) is the newer company and I find it hard to believe that they are not trying to piggyback off the Victorian Plumbing name, I would only consider Victorian Plumbing.

I don't suppose there's a difference in the quality of the products. They all buy in, a mixture of expensive brands, going down to a really cheap make.

The difference is going to be in customer service, speed of delivery, missing or incorrect parts, late arrival, and how efficient they are when things go wrong.

There is sure to be a local chain or independent merchant near you, but the same will be true for them.

I'd only heard of Victoria Plum, so I'm amazed that Victorian Plumbing was first. No wonder they were annoyed!
