I need some lengths of curtain weights but what weight for polyester?

Full length curtains but polyester lined with cotton from John Lewis. I wanted to weigh them with the long lengths of curtain weights not the round ones.

What sort of weight do they need?.

The weight needed will depend on the size of the curtains, with longer curtains needing more. I would think 100g/m is a good start. Heavier if they are very long and lighter if they are short/light.

I was a curtain maker in my previous life and we just attached weights on corners and seams. I have no recollection of different weights for different fabric 🤔

I tried the round ones from John Lewis, one in each corner but they just don’t hang properly. I ironed them thinking it would help but they billow out slightly & don’t look right.

I’m sworn off curtains for life now. I wanted roman blinds but dh vetoed on cost but with £300 on curtains, best part of £200 on curtain poles I could have just had the blinds 🤨.

Well I’ve ordered 10m 100g. Hopefully that will make them hang properly.
