We currently have Karndean dark wood effect flooring. It’s fine and was here when we moved in. It’s about 18 years old so has lost its sheen and has the odd scrape mark but only noticeable if you look closely. Our downstairs cloakroom has had a leak so insurance will cover that room being re done and the hall as both are affected but kitchen and dining room aren’t affected. Insurer has said they would pay 50% of replacing the flooring in those rooms so it matches. This sounds reasonable to me and I’m seriously considering it. It’ll still cost us about £1k but doing it in one go so it all matches makes savings longer term.
Suddenly I’m looking at flooring that wasn’t really on my agenda. I’ve only ever replaced flooring once before and went for porcelain tiles. Does anyone have any tips, things to avoid, things to look for?
Any advice gratefully received as I really need to get it right so it’ll hopefully last another 18+ years! Thank you
