New kitchen chipped after a week !

I'm gutted . brand new kitchen has chipped in two places after only a week. Would I be unreasonable to ask the company to replace a door? The door does open onto a pillar of plastered wall but surely shouldn't chip that easily ? It wasn't top of the range but neither the cheapest and a well known company.

This happened to me too OP. I contacted the kitchen supplier and they sent a replacement door straight away. Definitely worth complaining.

If it’s already chipped twice being opened against a pillar, then presumably it will happen again to the new door. If it’s not happened to any of the other doors, then it’s the pillar that’s the problem

Yes I think we need to see if the door could be made to open the other way instead although that won't quite match up with the other side.

Could you fit a rubber door stop to the pillar to cushion the door?
