Quick House Sale

Hi All,

We are in need of a quick house sale.
Is there any experience of the "we buy any house" type organisations.

We can afford to take a lower figure and it would enable us to move. I am just curious if there is often a we wont give you the quoted price thing

Don’t go throw those companies!

Instead just put on market at a very reasonable price.

You never know, it might grab interest and get more than you ever envisaged.

Unless you're in an area where the market is very flat or depressed anyway, realistically priced houses will usually sell pretty quickly.

We had to sell my mother's house for care home fees, and obv. didn't want it hanging around too long, esp, since none of us lived close enough to keep popping in.
Brother who handled the sale asked the EA for an honest and realistic valuation, given that we wanted a quick sale.
He gave 3 prices.
One, optimistic, could take 6 months.
Two, reasonable, probably 3 months.
Three, I'll sell it in a week.

Brother went for 3 - there was not actually a vast difference - and he did.
Worth asking for similar. Estate agents do often price 'optimistically' in order to get you signed up.

They will offer you at least 25% under valuation. I had clients with an offer of 32% under a year or so ago. Needless to say they came on with us and sold.

Thank You for the advice!
We went with the approach of asking the estate agent what price would sell it quickly.
We received sale agreed after 4 weeks at the lower price :)

I had actually gone to the trouble of filling in forms with those companies, so i am relieved i cam on here for advice!
