Sarah Beenie's Mortgage Free...

Living mortgage free is easy.

All you need is a relative with a large country estate who'll let you live like a traveller on their land for free.

Great work SB, highly achievable for everyone 😂

Or a £25k pot from modelling to buy a fucking boat Hmm

Oh yes, I forgot a pot of money.

It's so simple, I don't know why I hadn't thought of it myself!

How she keeps getting work I'll never know.

What a twat this woman actually is. I'm more shocked at the production company and network purchasers though. This is seriously out of touch

I gave up watching property programmes years ago. The people they feature always seem to have budgets that are completely unrealistic for the average person.

Admits that I do true. "Kirsty and Phil have a real challenge this week, bob and Jane want a twinned flat in London and have a tight budget of 750k"

What a load of shite.

Obviously everyone has a mummy and daddy with a huge garage they can give to the kids to convert.

As for the twat with his trailer - words fail me.

Expat my thoughts exactly. She always comes across so bloody smug too!

Anything featuring Kirsty Allsop is, too.

Honestly, I think programmes like this contributed to the Brexit vote.

Why?

Smug fuckers like this have no bearing on being in or out of the EU.

Sarasue what's their budget for the 'crash pad'?

I started to watch this last night ... gave up after twenty minutes.

I'd be mortgage free if i moved into my parents garage! Or my dad owned farm land .. but guess what most of us don't have super rich parents to live off

Just so out of touch.

I AM curious about these teeny tiny homes built on the back of trailers, though. I would love to revisit them in 12 months time and see how easy they REALLY are to live in, day in and day out...

I agree with all previous posters, but I did wonder where the trailer couple did their washing? Also not much storage for clothes!
I bet it's damp in the winter.

I am laughing out loud at all the comments here...I quite agree!

There was an example last year of a micro house that someone had converted from an apple store or something. It turned out that it was in the PIL's backyard, so the family were able to constantly run in and out of their house anyway. Hmm

Interesting as an architectural project, but not as a model for family life.

I can't help but think, what about if you have kids Hmm

In the first episode, there was a family who had overpaid their mortage by scrimping and saving and became mortgage free a lot earlier than if they'd paid just the required amount.

This is a more practical approach for most people, but you couldn't make a whole series out of "we shopped at cheaper places and put the money into the mortgage instead".

Property programmes do well for Channel 4 and they have made an effort in recent years to extend their offerings in this area. Some are successful, some not so much.

I think Sarah Beenie is pretty good as a presenter and she has a lot of pre-TV experience of being a property developer. Her best show, I reckon, is Double Your House for Half the Money which you can still watch on All4 (C4's on demand service). Lots of tips and ideas for people doing home improvements.

Another top tip was to already own an expensive house in a popular owner and then to sell it and downsize just using the equity you've already made! no shit Sherlock!

Sick of these property programmes and the patronising money saving ones too! Overpay your mortgage by shopping at Lidl and save a few bob-why didn't I think of that?!! Switch your utility providers!!!!! What planet are these people on- talk about stating the bleeding obvious!
