When are you putting your house on the market?

We have been waiting for months for Easter to come round as "that is when everyone puts their house on the market"
Easter has been and gone and there is nothing that has sparked our interest.
We are looking for a more rural property which aren't as common to the market but I feel very deflated that we have prepared ourselves for a buoyant Easter market for it to be as flat as a pancake
Sad

Feel like I'm waiting for nothing

What's your location?

I'm in Dorset and it usually picks up next week, the schools have gone back today and people tend to now get their properties valued and market ready to go live next week.

@BakedBeeeen Yorks

Schools are back today round here too.

I find myself looking back at what has sold over the last few years in our area and there has been loads that would have suited us. The last 12 months, zilch.

It's a waiting game with rural property, we've been looking about a year and have probably see half a dozen.

Luckily we're in no rush to move but it's still demoralising, fingers crossed we are finally onto a winner but who can tell...

ETA: property will go on the market as soon as we have an offer accepted

Just started a similar thread. Can I ask, are you guys waiting to start selling your home AFTER you have had an offer accepted? Or in rented? I thought you have to sell yours first before making an offer, but that does make finding a unique property quickly a challenge!

@heffalumpshavewrinkles we are chain free so ready to proceed at the drop of a hat

We have been to view properties where offers have been made by other people and the vendor wouldn't accept their offer as they weren't in a position to proceed

I feel your pain fun sponge - I've been looking since September (also renting after selling ours) but we are hardly rural and still nothing coming on. I also thought there'd be a few after Easter... I'm contemplating popping letters through doors as wondering if potential sellers think there are no buyers. Not too sure if this comes across as desperate though!
