Gurgling shower

Hi can anyone help?
Got a noisy gurgling shower in our ensuite but no apparent blockage as everything is draining just fine. For good measure I've chucked down spirits of salt in the loos & a strong drain cleaner down the sinks & shower to dissolve any gunk but it's done nothing. Before we call out an expensive plumber any advice to fix it ourselves? Don't know where the drains are but suspect that they may go under our patio but haven't found any covers to lift up & look.

Does it make the noise after you have finished using the shower or during or? Has the noise only started recently?

Could be hard to resolve. Have you tried a plunger? Does anyone who use it have long hair?

How long has it been doing that? Is it getting worse?

Was the shower a later addition to older plumbing?

Thanks for replying guys Smile
Managed to locate the drain cover & yes it's running perfectly so no blockage there.
I have long hair but hopefully the knockout stuff I chucked down would have dissolved any lurking but shower drains v well.
The noise has just happened recently and gurgles all night long regardless of water being run etc. Very noisy!
Ensuite is a newish addition (12 years possibly) but we've lived here 2.5 years with no problem other than the occasional sulphur smell coming up from the shower drain on cold mornings!!
Any help massively appreciated

"gurgles all night long regardless of water being run "

perhaps water is trickling down the drain. Have a look inside the WC cistern and see if it is going down the overflow.

The sink waste will be connected to the shower waste pipe. The problem question now is, do you have a tiled floor?
Also, hair doesn't necessarily get desolved by Mr muscle and can be causing your problem.

Right it was my hair & plunging the shower cleared it in the end. This was a complete surprise as shower was still draining & I'd used a whole bottle of drain cleaner on it, just in case.
Thanks again - it was worrying me & the noise was keeping me awake at night!

The problem with long hair is that it gets tangled up around the plug hole and it promotes a build up of soap and gunk. Mr muscle won't get rid of it.
Glad you're sorted.
