We have a gas fire opening of approx 55cm that would need to be widened to about 75cm to take the gas fire I'm considering. Is that an expensive job? The fire would be one of those hole in the wall ones that look a bit like a flat screen telly.
The opening is open right down to the floor, as presumably it was intended for a traditional style of gas fire. Do they just lay bricks in that bit to build up to where the bottom of the fire would be? Again, is that cheapish?
