What colour for this door?

We're redecorating our house. New (gorgeous) wood effect laminate floor, Dulux timeless on the walls and a grey on the skirting & architraves. But what to paint this door?!

It's currently manky old white gloss which looks awful and doesn't look great with the off-white timeless on the walls. But not sure what colour it could be?

It's in our open plan downstairs which has a sage green front door and sage green accents in the kitchen but otherwise trying to keepthe look clean and simple as it's an old cottage and doesn't get a lot of light

Any ideas?

What colour for this door?

Paint it to match the other woodwork or in Timeless - satinwood.

I probably wouldn't have painted the dark grey surrounding the door and would have painted both in timeless like the walls but in satinwood.

sorry not at all helpful

Agree with odin you want to lose the door in timeless.

By that I mean paint frame and door in timeless, not terribly clear in my last post sorry.

Do it grey to match the skirting.

Or Strip the grey and the white off the door and have both in natural wood to match the flooring?

I would paint the surround lighter too. I just didn't say that I'm my first post.

It's the cupboard under the stairs, right?

You could pry off the architrave, finely smooth the edge of the wall and the door to minimum gap, and paint to match.

If the wall is wood panel, do them both in satinwood. If the wall is plastered, you can use emulsion, but I think the door will match better for texture if you cover it in lining paper first. You can paper the wall and the door if you like.

Warning: matt emulsion or eggshell will get dirty marks around the door handle, and where anyone brushes past.

I like contrasts so would probably go with a deep red or mauve to oppose the Timeless and grey - but that's just me :)
