Island breakfast bar size

How much overhang do you think you need to make a breakfast on an island ? One side will have the hob, and the cupboards under that side are 60cm (maybe 70cm - they are extra deep). I though on the other side we could have 30cm deep units (or maybe open shelves) with 30cm overhang. Is that enough ?

We're doing exactly this, although with only 25 cm overhang. I have been assured it's fine!

loveto that's good to hear. Have you found a good place for stools ? I've failed there miserably. I'm hoping IKEA as my budget will be gone (no idea what the work surface will be yet).
