Bathroom furniture - is R2 hardwearing?

Hi
I am trying to sort out a new bathroom and have set my sights on matt white tiles , a lovely grey tiled floor with a bit of a blingy gloss anthracite (think black) vanity unit and wall cupboard thing. The problem is, the only units I like in the showroom are R2 which is the cheap end of Roper Rhodes. Roper Rhodes furniture carries a clear 10 year guarantee which gives some peace of mind with two teenagers careering round the place. The R2 guarantee is only two years (and I had to contact the company to find that out) and the brochure mentions numerous caveats and warnings about clearing up spillages and no heavy condensation etc. It has put me off quite a bit . Has anyone else had any experience of R2 furniture?

Are you in a hard or soft water area? If it's hard water, the marks will show really badly on black. It's a matter of personal taste, but I dislike black in bathrooms and kitchens unless it's kitchen worktops.

Hi
We're in a hard water area which was something I hadn't considered - so thanks for your post. I may have to revisit the colour scheme but it has taken me weeks to get this far - definitely a first world problem - there is way too much choice. What I was really wondering about was the durability of the laminate on the R2 units in light of the short guarantee.
