American style fridge freezer recommendations

I wanted one with the fridge at the top rather than down one side. I think they call it French larder style so we got the SAMSUNG RF24FSEDBSR and I absolutely love it :)

We have a Maytag stainless steel side by side with dispenser on the front.

It is old - 14 years! We bought it before they were trendy in this country and it is still going strong and looking good.

It's going to break down now, isn't it?

Ive got a daewoo side by side. Not a brand I would have considered, but it was included in the sale of the house. I've no idea how old it is but that was over 10 years ago and I've only ever changed the filter for the water dispenser.
My only comment would be that there's not really that much space in the freezer side, enough for our family but not if you've a houseful of teenagers.
But the fridge is massive, and ice and water from the front are handy. Never run out of ice even with big parties.
It's easy to clean too, and the freezer is frost free.

We have the same Samsung AFF as LPLPLP - I love it, loads of space, ice and water dispenser and decent sized freezer drawers.

Another vote for a Samsung but we went for the SAMSUNG RF24HSESBSR. It's a monster and also has a built in soda stream type thing do do your own soft drinks. The Coke, lemonade and tonic are excellent but the Dr Pete (!) is only vaguely similar to Dr Pepper...

LPLPLP - that's really helpful, thanks. I didn't know fridge-over-freezer drawers had a name. I'm leaning towards that rather than side by side.

I've got a similar French style Samsung but 3 doors (and cheaper!) It is a which best buy and we saved about 300 by getting it from Costco. It is fantastic.

I have this I absolutely love it.
Was going to get one with a water tap but didn't as it would have had to be plumbed in (too much hassle) and one of my friends who has one told me that it actually takes up lots of freezer space. Glad I didn't get one with a water tap now.
