Keston boilers?

We need a new boiler, ours came with the house and seems to be 25 years+ The builders have suggested a Keston because it has some special kind of flue which means it could go in the basement apparently.

All the reviews I have seen online make it look like this is not a wise move - Kestons are unreliable etc etc. Does anyone have any experience, positive or negative?

We were intending to have a Worcester Bosch until this week, largely on the basis of MN recommendations, so the fate of my heating depends on you Grin.

We had a Keston - it was in the house when we moved in. Large house with underfloor heating throughout so regular boiler not sufficient. The Keston was very noisy and it broke a couple of years ago. It was difficult to find somebody prepared to deal with it and the manufacturers were not very helpful.
We couldn't get it fixed so replaced it with 2 smaller boilers. Sorry I can't be more helpful/specific

Oh. We had one installed for the same reason (wanted it in the cellar) three years ago, and so far no problems whatsoever. It seems v efficient
